• Drink Water: Drink at least eight glasses of water a day, even a slight dehydration can make you feel lethargic. Maximize your liver’s fat-metabolizing ability by drinking more water so that it’s not working overtime to detoxify your body.
• Feed your body well and often: If you want to have plenty of energy, you need to boost your metabolism. However, it is impossible to boost your metabolism by eating 2 or 3 meals a day. Spread your meals through out the day (4-6), and balance them with protein, fruits and veggies. Besides, you can have a little bit of good fats such as walnuts, almonds, or oils like olive or sunflower and your body will be not only well-oiled, but totally energized.
• Get some rest:
While staying up too late and depriving your body of sleep, you are making yourself less productive at work and grumpier in terms of mood. Besides, you are stressing your body which means that you may also age prematurely. As a result, your body needs a steady 7-8 hrs of sleep each night in order to function effectively.
• Fruits and Veggies: Get five to seven servings of fruits and veggies a day. Why? Because they not only reduce heart diseases and prevent some forms of cancer, but the added fiber will make you feel fuller when eating less.
• Eat in a relaxed state. NO TV ALLOWED while eating
• Eating is only one half of the battle: Physical activity is very important in order to achieve a healthy body weight. Exercise improves the blood lipid levels, which decreases the risk of heart disease and stroke. Exercise improves the blood pressure; and it also increases confidence and decreases stress. It lessens sadness and depression and it increases energy. In addition, it helps in weight loss and in keeping weight off. Therefore, exercise means health.
• Climb the stairs as often as possible
• Take advantage of parks- enjoy walking, biking, swimming, tennis and other sports.
• Turn household chores into calories burners. Move with a purpose.
